Welcome

Welcome to Jacob’s Sends! Sends refers to a climbing term “send” meaning someone finished a route without falling or resetting. “Take” refers to a belayer taking the extra slack in the rope so if the climber falls, then there’s not of slack in the rope and the climber won’t fall far. I’d like to post some of my sends if I can and also use my WordPress to help organize my senior research. Please check out my intro post to learn a little more about me.

Content block I can’t get rid of.

Good evening everyone! My name is Jacob Moxley. I’m really excited to get to know WordPress a lot more and see what I can cook up. If anyone knows any tips on getting a fruitger aero look, I’m all ears.

DS106 assignment 1

A little bit about me is that I’m from Woodbridge, VA and transferred from NOVA to UMW. I just finished my semester at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia and heading back in a couple days. I really wish I could have stayed longer but I miss my family and friends. Plus it’s super expensive here. For fun facts, I listed some in my SoundCloud.

I mentioned some goals in my YouTube video with the background being the view from my villa in Sydney. It’s not breathtaking or anything but I still think it’s nice to wake up and just see the lawn when people are roaming around.

To expand one of my goals about my senior project: I’m hoping to use the WordPress to help organize my notes and my interviews. It’s not concrete yet, but I’m hoping my research will be a linguistic anthropology approach to the rise in internet slang in person-to-person conversations. It’s something I’ve been interested in for YEARS. But, if I can’t do that then my backup plan will be something related to anthropology of religion.

Thank you for scrolling through my intro post! I kind of feel like I’m making a tumblr or a MySpace. Anyway, I look forward to working in this class. Have a great week!
